Clemson Tigers at Virginia Tech Hokies, Feb 4, 2012 4:00 PM EST
Another game in the State of Virginia. Will the Tigers play like they did on Tuesday? Or will our play be more reminiscent of the games in Boston and Miami? Milton Jennings is still suspended, and didn't make the trip with the team. Game tips at 4 on RSN.

If you are in NC or the Fort Mill area of SC the game will be on FSN South.
Big game for the Tigers today, with Milton Jennings out, this will be a huge test for Booker, Sullivan and Bobo to crash the boards and create some havoc, or it could be a long one. Starting 5 will be posted soon.

He is a good player. I can see BB doing some good things once he's developed.

Young, Smith, Booker, Narcisse & McDaniels starting
This will be McDaniels first start (I believe) and currently it is expected for us to be in more of a man look with such a small lineup.

Hokies win the tip.
Clemson is playing a man set, VT immediately attempts off ball screens and gets the first buckets.

Booker has some serious hops
If he could ever get it together he would be dangerous.

Slow start by the Tigers.
Not the way you want to begin a game on the road.

Put it this way
Sill mistakes, sloppy offensive play, and complete lack of defense determination has put us in a whole late.
In other news, Bobo is on the court.

I feel like I'm watching a Clemson basketball game from 2002...
… this is as bad as we’ve been in a looooong time
By far the worst game we have played this season.
And we just hit the 10 minute left mark of the 1st half.

How many defensive boards do we have?
I feel like they are getting EVERYTHING off of the glass
This. Is.
Terrible.
Make your wide open shots or don’t get on the bus home.

Greenberg is such a dickhead
Did you see him run and shout at Tanner when he was shooting a 3? That’s busch league shit.
If we want a chance at this
we have to get it to 10 or less by half. But when we can’t even make a fucking layup, that is pretty tough to do. EVERY game we have a 3-8 minute period where we cannot make a shot.
Trying to play a 1-3-1, but we don't really have the personnel
Young running the base line is far from ideal
I think your going to see McD start getting more minutes. Especially now that we see how effective he is an Jennings isn't.

Reliability of the known, fear of the unknown.
It is a smart coaching decision, as you can’t expect a freshmen to just step in and be able to compete with starters minutes in big time college basketball without some complete boneheaded actions. Look at what happened with Austin Rivers at Duke, he has been more of a problem for that team, not something to be relied on.

Narcisse brings nothing to the table
I watch a lot of CAA basketball too, and he wouldn’t start for any of those teams.
Rivers is a different person and in a different situation than McDaniels. He was the #1 rated high school player, has a huge ego, and wanted to be the man right away. McDaniels plays very mature for a freshman, isn’t being counted on to be our #1 guy, and hasn’t shown an ego to date.
Yes
And he is long, plays defense, block shots, and can rebound. He can be the complete package. His ceiling is very high.
Sapp is my 2nd favorite freshmen at this point
I like Sullivan too, but he seems a bit undersized for the 4 and not skilled enough for the 3.
Not writing off Hall or Coleman, but I’m underwhelmed at this point.
I like Sapp, and see him being very similar to Vernon Hamilton
Rodd Hall reminds me too much of a smaller Raymond Sykes (I know the hair). But I also see him just making too many simple high school mistakes, losing the ball off his feet and trying to force it into closed off passing lanes.

Hall has a loose handle for someone his size
Needs to tighten that up a lot. Doesn’t have great vision either.
When Tanner got that rebound I stopped breathing until the ball bounced off the rim...
It speaks volumes though that we had a chance at the end. We looked terrible early and were trailing by double digits forever it seemed.
Yeah, he's the main reason that gap closed and we had a chance at the end
Just wish he made those free throws
As much as I wishe he makes though, I am in no way dissapointed in him
He is the reason why the game ended the way he did. He grew up big time tonight… let’s hope this is rewarded with more starts and he continues to get better and create more opportunities to win!
Can you imagine him making that last dunk and then hitting the
game winning FT?? instant Clemson legend! Hahaha
Definitely not, I feel bad for him
I’ve been in that position before. Knees knock in those situations.
