AJC is reporting possible flip of Kenderius Whitehead to Clemson
He has both UGA and CU letters with him
What position is Whitehead? And how much of an overall impact would this be?
Is he more of a Ricky Sapp, Gaines Adams, Bowers style player or are we looking at an another potential Goodman?

Looks like Bama decided to drop Casey Gladney's offer due to academic concerns
if the 25-rule the SEC put in place wasnt there, he’d be signing with them.
How does FSU get all of these guys
So on the D line next year they’ll have Jernigan, Edwards, Fowler Jr., Casher and probably Goldman… they’ve got ridiculous depth at LB and looks like Darby now too…

It’s unbelievable the type of class they’re putting together… Think all these guys are buying into the “FSU is back” hype… haven’t they been saying that for about the past 6 years?
yep
it’s ridiculous how much depth they have on defense, yet kids just keep picking them as if they think they’ll come in and start from day one
Seems as though FSU always signs great classes but they never seem to put it all together on the field.

last years FSU class was great too but
honestly even with these classes FSU doesnt scare Clemson anymore but they will be talented

I think Jimbo is a great recruiter, but not a “Big Game Coach” and FSU plays a lot of those!

Clemson got lucky to face FSU at the time they did. FSU was missing 4 great players and still only squeaked out a win in DV.
Backup QB, top two or three WR’s out, best CB out.
FSU worries me greatly. They are getting talent like crazy right now. Jimbo brought in a DC that actually knows what he’s doing. Their defense was much improved this year over last, and I expect it’ll only get better next year.
Best CB was not out
I think most would tell you Mike Harris and Rhodes are better than Reid. But they are bringing in a helluva lotta talent.
I also think you could say that FSU shouldn’t have been in that game if it weren’t for the biggest fluke TD in the history of big fluke TDs.
DrB who are the impact players in this class?
obviously Blanks and Watkins, but is there anyone else you think has a chance to come in and make an impact this year?

I think the staff went for a bunch of impact players last class and this class is just building depth and having solid players. No huge impact players

Leamon is unlikely to sign with Clemson
Staff has indicated that its unlikely he’ll ever get in, and he may sign elsewhere today.

Seems like Clemson had a ton of momentum early in the season getting recuits
but that terrible November and getting our asses handed to us by the Big East on national TV has killed our last minute pushes for a lot of these guys. FSU is wracking them up right now.

Pretty disappointed… We haven’t gotten a commitment in quite a while… and seen countless others go to UGA… NCstate… FSU… what have Dabo and co. been doing? Clearly weren’t watching WVU film…

Looks like might only sign 18 or 19
depending on what DJ Reader and Whitehead do. If we can land both of them looks like 20/21.

All in all, its still a nice class
Especially considering the way the Tigers closed the season out. Getting whipped by NCST. Getting blown out by the coots again for third year in a row. Getting destroyed in the Orange Bowl. Firing the Def Coord. Bringing in a new D.C.
Not too shabby to still be ranked in the 10-15 range.
This NSD has renewed my disdain for FSU

Even though this class seems highly ranked...
for some reason, I feel like it’s not as strong as the rankings suggest… Blanks, Hopper, and Watkins I believe are all studs, but I’m worried about Kelly and his ego… I think he seriously believes he’s going to easily unseat Tajh next year.
I also see a lot of guys that don’t seem to have a clear position to me yet… lot of athletes/safety types. I’m not quite sold on some of the OL and DL yet either… some of them seem a little overrated to me. I don’t see a lot of the guys on the line that look anything more than a solid/good player
This one does not have the star power of the last class.
However, we took a bunch of linemen, and they typically are not rated as high as the skill players. Also, Caldwell and Brooks are supposed to be good at evaluating talent on the lines, so I trust their judgement. Redshirt all of them (except for Watkins and maybe Battle) and coach them up.

I am really looking forward to Blanks and Watkins… definitely think they can make an impact from day one… both seem like good kids too
We lost Leamon though....
who would have been more highly recruited if qualifying wasn’t a question… seems like the writing was on the wall with Leamon…. why did the staff not recruit other OL? Or did we just miss out? Seems like they should have seen this coming…
We recruited some other guys, but they just went elsewhere.
I think Leamon was the one I was the most excited about, but maybe he goes to prep school and makes it here eventually.

What are we going to do with Chad Kelly?
I really can’t see this situation turning out well… What if (as I believe) he doesn’t usurp Tajh’s control on the QB position this year? Is he going to want to leave? If the staff sees potential problems, do they target another top QB next year? If Chad sees that, is he going to want to leave?
One of three things will happen.
1) He will learn to live with being the backup, and realize that the best player plays.
2) He will unseat Tajh and be one of the best QB’s we have ever seen (highly unlikely)
3) He will get unhappy and transfer.
If he leaves, then Cole will be fine. Also, we are recruiting one heck of a QB in GA who would come in in 2014. We lead for him right now.

DeShaun Watson is the name of the QB in Ga, I believe
And he is a supposed to be a Rivals100 player whenever rankings come out for that class.
Dabo and The Chad have shown little tolerance for guys who put themselves above the team IMO, hopefully they take what they learned from the Mike Bellamy experience and apply to this situation as well. No one is above the team!

Tajh has 2 years of eligibility so Kelly could redshirt 1 yr, backup 1 yr, and start 3 years. Not a bad deal.
If Kelly is a better runner than Boyd (which I think it hte case, right?) then I wouldn’t be shocked if Kelly beats out Tajh at some point (not necessarily this year). Having watched the way Morris ran Tulsa’s offense with GJ Kinne at QB, I think Morris would prefer a QB that’s much more of a running threat than Boyd.
Having 2-3 decent QBs available might allow Morris to risk running the QB more next season. Morris hardly ever ran Boyd last season— which was very different from the way he ran the Tulsa offense with Kinney. He didn’t run Kinney hard every game, but against some defenses, Morris ran Kinney constantly.
I think we probably redshirt him
then see him make situational appearances as a RS Freshman

Looks like Marty Williams is waffling.
Would hate to lose a player to ECU, but they want to let him play on offense, and will not RS him. If that is what he wants, then go for it.

I think it is a good move.
But it also probably tells you that they expect Carlos Watkins to come in and play a lot right away. It also tells me that they must have some confidence in some of the other guys at that position, because if the others could not get it done, then Shatley would stay. He was not great, but he was serviceable.

Just faxed his LOI to Clemson.
Hoping he’ll be a Perry brother on the football field and a CC Sabathia on the mound.

Battle Watkins Lawson Reader all play at least 2 sports effectively in HS…Hopefully that means athleticism and upside!

Well, we got Reader. That's pretty much it for today.
20 guys. Solid class top to bottom. Nothing flashy, just a good class.
It’d be nice if Darby chose us, but he’s gonna be FSU all the way. FSU is closing this year the way we did last year. I HATE IT!!!! Our biggest division rival and they’re putting together a top 3 class.
We've got
a top 10 class ourselves. Hopefully we did better with the sleeper picks than they did.

Right now they're at 2 and we're at 7.
I think Darby would bump them past ‘Bama to #1, if he shocked everybody and picked us it’d probably bump us to around #5

Updated Rivals rankings have us at #13, and FSU at #5
- is nothing to sneeze at. Just angers me seeing FSU do so well.

apparently rather than go to prep school, Javarius Leamon has signed with SC State.
Hasn't signed from what I'm hearing
but will take a visit this weekend. apparently he’s still considering prep school too.
