"Maybe I'm under an illusion, but we generate more money than anybody else in the ACC for football. Biggest stadium. Clemson approaches football kind of like an SEC football team. And I just think we should be very, very competitive every year. To have six guys drafted this year and end up with a 6-7 record, it just doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Our draft this year and where our guys were picked was pretty good representation. "You've got to be able to punch people in the mouth. You've got to be able to get a third-and-1 when you need a third-and-1. And you've got to be able to stop a third-and-1. To me, that's where we just come up short. "It's disappointing to see all these other teams winning ACC championships. I truly do not understand it. I went to Boston College last year and watched that thing. It's just embarrassing. There's absolutely no sense that you put the collective recruiting classes together, and we go up there and look like there are six guys interested in playing football. It's hard for me to watch. ...I understand sometimes we'll have off years and sometimes you have some injuries and things. But there's no reason Clemson should be going 6-7.
