Keith Marshall picks today
I think the kid is going to UGA but, apparently the staff has busted their butts to make up ground. This would be a major coup for the staff and important for next year's team if Bellamy is in question. Personally i think Bellamy is a more explosive and has a higher ceiling but none of that matters if he's always be disiplined. Marshall does seem to be more mature than the aforementioned back.
-he picks today around 245pm

Dabo made a good point about Sammy being a “No assembly required” type of guy.. Some of these guys haven’t even been through a spring and summer with the program yet. Now thats not an excuse for Bellamy and his discipline, but I think that he, along with Stephone Anthony and maybe a guy like Cortez Davis or Charone Peake will make HUGE strides fundamentaly, strength-wise, and knowledge wise.
But regardless of all this, there is no doubt that we need Marshall or Gurley to sign on..plain and simple numbers game we need more backs. That position is too physical and most of our guys are not load bearing types. So we will always need a rotation.

i just dont understand why he would pick georgia when they already have isiah crowell
if he had chosen clemson he would have prob been the feature back

every high school player, thats worth a damn, believes they are the best to have ever played the game and their future school’s existing talent will be no match for them. A lot of this is reinforced by the recruiting process. I’m sure the UGA coaches told him, the best back will play. He simply believes he is the best back.
Dawg here - I think the unsettled nature of our backfield had a lot to do with getting Marshall.
Crowell has been impressive (SEC Freshman of the Year), but he’s got some cerebral sprains to deal with (along with a bum ankle/toe and general conditioning issues). Marshall is a high-character kid who looks like he might be able to push Crowell from day 1. If Crowell washes out, he’s got the prime spot. Since Moreno left in 2008, we’ve been waiting for a guy to claim the #1 job.
Washes out?
Ealey and King washed out…
You guys have a #1 primetime feature back right on your team- Crowell had a VERY strong freshman season.Granted he coughed it up at times and you probably know more about him than I, but that kid is a stud back. And yes Crowell got banged up, but so did Ellington, Lattimore, James, David Wilson, and every other running back not name Ball or Richardson..The days of having a 1-man backfield are over in major conferences, just like the NFL..
High character running backs- like for all reports it seems marshall is, understand this and don’t mind being in a 1-2 combo as long as for at least one season, they will be number 1.
On another note- If all parties involved are healthy- I will thoroughly enjoy watching Stephone Anthony, Tony Steward and company knock Crowell and Marshall around for 4 quarters in 2013. Can’t wait!

Crowell has talent abounding, but got small at the wrong times
Maybe we’re just perpetual pessimists in Athens, but there are real doubts about Crowell’s committment to do what it takes to excel.
I wish our teams played more. We have one of the most storied rivalries in college football, and it shouldn’t be hibernating.
