Chester McGlockton, the former WHS football star and All-Pro defensive lineman, has died of a sudden illness.

McGlockton was one of the all-time great defensive linemen to play at Clemson and was serving as a defensive assistant at Stanford.

Noooooo...this is sad.
RIP Chester.
What a beast he was. Perhaps the strongest and most physically imposing defensive linemen in Clemson history. Nobody could block him from day one when he set foot on campus. Automatic double team every play….and many times that was not enough. He could also clear out Crazy Zach’s by himself. He was definitely a hero of mine growing up.
Very sad news.

Awesome player on the field, total jackass off it.
According to what Plyler wrote
he wasn’t like that as a freshman. Apparently became really rebellious after Coach Ford got fired.

I was there when he was....and you are right
He would shove people out of his way in TTT and other bars in Tigertown. He would say “get the fuck out of my way…….I hate white people”. He was a mean SOB, but I would take more of him if it will help us win 10+ games, rule the Cocks and get ACC championships. I loved to watch him as a player but hated to run into him downtown. I could say more but I’ll stop there. My condolences to his family.

RIP Chester
… thoughts and prayers go out to your family and friends.
my first memory of clemson was Chester...
sitting in 2 fold up chairs on the sidelines during pregame warm ups. i was so enthralled that he was that big that he had to sit in 2 chairs, it was an awesome sight. it was my first clemson game even though the game was at the roach. he was my first fav clemson athlete. he’ll be missed!
