I'm not very confident our defense will be able to keep a struggling offense in check, but we badly need style points in games like this one to sway voters in our direction. Our defense is holding us back in that department bigtime. Tech is going to score, and they'll get some big plays tonight on the perimeter.

We'll have to take advantage of their lack of size up front and churn the ball down the field and get our defense a rest, because they're going to try to play keep-away tonight. However, we must also get points because the # of possessions can be limited against an option team. If they fumble, we must get it and score.

Defense

I agree that GT will score. However I don’t think that they will be able to pass much unless they do some trickery. I think the interior DL will determine this game. Plus, they cannot stop our nasty offense. Guaranteed!

i am to the point that i am tired of making excuses for steele

we discussed how it takes time to get linebackers to play and we waited. Steele cannot get his guys to hit the QB. Before it was a deep pass. Last year it was poor linebacker play. this year it is something else. I will tell you that Coach Cheese is an excellent coach. Marion Hobby is good and Dan Brooks probably the best you can get. I am leaning towards an administrative issue. I wont give you anything definitive yet, but I am getting impatient.

I had no problem with how some of them played tonight. Without calling players out specifically, some guys gave everything they had while some did not. Can’t have 5 or six players ballin while the others sit back and play soft against GT’s offense.

I thought 8-4 would be par with talent and someone coaching them

at 8-1 they are ahead of schedule with the Atlantic within grasp.I wanted to see atleast 9-3 as a fan. This is a lesson that should be taken to heart for the team and staff. They played a team that wanted more, and they should use this to finish the season. In order to win the conference, you have to beat the teams you will face the next three weeks.

We are the best team on Planet Earth and if the ACC and God didn’t have some kind of bizarre vendetta against us, we would win the NC every year. I’m sure GT paid the officials. And all of their players. The ACC just plays favorites and hates us to the core.

O never got well and truly setteled becuase they simply didn’t have the ball long enough to. LB play was abismal, again. And DBs simply couldn’t get off blocks.

If anything, we were helped by the officials. That play where Rennie Moore jumped the snap and grabbed the ball right out the qb’s hands was suuuuu-per offsides. I was amazed they didn’t flag that.

There were 2 occasions of late hits out of bounds uncalled.

But officiating was not in the least why we lost.Not by any stretch.

I’d go into the locker room, break something, and tell my team to channel everything they’re feeling and UNLEASH IT on Wake, NC state, and SC! I want a blow out against Wake and make them regret ever thinking about challenging us. NC state should be steam rolled and I’d run up the score against SC if I could. Then I might feel better.

Ga tech wanted / needed this game way more than we did. Their season was on the line tonight, and they played like it. They host Va tech next week and have a chance to take control of their division with another win next week.

I thought something just looked really wrong with our emotions / body language early on in the 1st QT. It showed in every aspect of our game tonight.

Bye week next week = stewing about this shitty performance for the next 10 days, but if we beat Wake.. we’re in the ACC championship.. that’s all that matters now.
