Undefeated - Week 6
Halfway through the regular season and we are still among the nations no loss teams. A Clemson team sitting at 6-0 with 3 conference wins was not on anyone’s radar in August. We can only hope that we continue to perform to our ability and come out with wins.
Fifteen entered and only thirteen remain after week 6. The class of undefeated teams is getting smaller as the weeks roll on. Last week I predicted that Texas, Texas Tech, and Kansas St. would fall from this elite list. Well, 2 out of 3, not too bad. Texas proved that they were just too young, and Oklahoma was just too good. Texas Tech held it closer than I thought, but still were not enough to beat the Aggies. Kansas St., like some of you predicted, was able to withstand Missouri (who is not the team they should be). The rest of the unbeaten were able to roll through their games with little to no problems. All unbeaten teams are now ranked in the top 25. 10 of the 13 play on the road this weekend. The schedule for week 7 for the perfect thirteen is listed below;
(1) LSU @ Tennessee
(2) Alabama @ Ole Miss
(3) Oklahoma @ Kansas
(4) Wisconsin vs. Indiana
(5) Boise St. @ Colorado St.
(6) Oklahoma St. @ Texas
(7) Stanford @ Washington St.
(8) Clemson @ Maryland
(11) Michigan @ (23) Michigan St.
(12) Georgia Tech @ Virginia
(16) Illinois vs. Ohio St.
(17) Kansas St. @ Texas Tech
(25) Houston - Bye
Since no undefeated teams play each other, they could all remain unbeaten into week 8. However, there are some games here that could pose problems to those playing them. I’m going to go DEEP out onto a limb and say Michigan St. could upset Michigan. It all depends on which Denard Robinson shows up. I also think Texas Tech could defeat Kansas St. at home. I know, Kansas St. is getting that Cinderella story tag, but I think they have to come down to Earth sometime. I’m most interested to see, however, the Stanford game at Washington St. Stanford has only played one team with a winning record (Duke), and Washington St. has been playing decent football. Don’t get me wrong, I think Stanford will win, but I think it’s the biggest test for them thus far.
Who, if anyone, do you think will fall from this list this week?

Hmm.. Lets see
I really only care about teams that are ranked ahead of us.. out of those 7 games with a team ranked above us, I see 2 games that catch my eye. I think Texas may be able to make it interesting with OSU.. (not calling the upset, just saying the possibility is there). And I agree with you about Stanford.. I dont think Stanford is an elite team. That one has a chance also. But ya know.. ANYTHING can happen.. which brings me to my next point… Is there any possible conceiveable way that Houston Nutt pulls off one of his seemingly yearly magic tricks?? Im about 99.999% certain that it’s impossible for Ole Miss to win, but I can dream cant I? …On the games below us, I think Ill pick Michigan St and Ohio St to knock out the unbeaten Michigan and Illinois.
I thought about Ohio St...
but they’ve looked pretty horrible this year. They looked even worse with their quarterback going down. However, he’s supposed to play against Illinois, but we’ll see.
OK State possible but unlikely til Texas figures out a QB situation.
Michigan very possible, State plays very good defense.
Best shot I think is Texas Tech beating K St.
You guys are just gonna keep flinging shit against the wall with K-State and hoping it sticks…they are for real. Snyder is the best coach in the game right now. Only one undefeated goes down this week and it’s Illinois.
Kansas St.
I didn’t necessarily state in the article that I though they would lose, but I do, like Dr. B., think they have a shot at going down. They are VERY well coached and all credit goes to Snyder. However, excluding the Kent State game, they are not dominating teams. With the stretch they have left (Texas Tech, Oklahoma, Oklahoma St., Texas A&M, and Texas) they will come back down to Earth soon, but are well on their way to being a much better team thanks to Snyder.

Because we dont respect K State
well coached yes, but not much talent on the team. They’ve been floundering too long now for me to believe theyre back at the level Snyder had them before he retired.
I believe Mich goes down, and possibly Illinois
Wash St has played good football so far, and Stanford is untested, but I think they remain undefeated. Texas played OK hard for a couple of drives on defense, but were clearly over-matched, as I think they will be this week against OK St. Kansas St is having a good year and Snyder knows how to win, but they can’t keep this going forever. I don’t think this is the week they lose however.
The only one I care about is Clemson @ Maryland. Let’s head up there and make turtle soup!
Amen.
Let’s keep winning and let everything else sort itself out.

Are you guys are confusing Washington with Washington State?
Washington is looking decent this year. But Washington State got spanked by San Diego State and beaten by UCLA. The Cougars have beaten nobody good and there isn’t a snowball’s chance in hell that they’ll beat Stanford.
NO...
I was talking about Washington St. Granted. I know Stanford will win. I’m just not sold on their elite status yet. Washington St., sitting at 3-2, is not a great team, but they do have a great passing attack and are ranked 7th in the country in passing. I just mentioned it would be interesting to see Stanford play someone who doing at least something right on offense or defense.

To be honest.. I wasnt sure who Stanford is playing.. I just took his word for it..
But I do expect them to slip up sometime this year, besides the Oregon game. I dont believe they are an elite team.
