Mike Slive hints at possible SEC expansion, with Clemson included
"According to Hyams, Slive told CBS executives in a recent meeting that the league’s goal would be to keep pace with a 16-team Big Ten by pursuing Texas, Texas A&M, Florida State and Clemson.
If Texas and Texas A&M cannot be lured in, then Miami and Georgia Tech will join Florida State and Clemson on the SEC’s wish list."
Shit, lets go.

Let's go, indeed
Yes, I know. We haven’t won an ACC Championship in forever — won’t we be completely overmatched in the SEC? All I can say is, it’ll be fun finding out. After all — if we succeed in the ACC, we’re still just the champs of a second-rate football conference. If we succeed in the SEC, we’re national champs. Maybe that’ll never happen, but the prospect of competing at the highest level is really appealing. As is the money. And playing Georgia on a regular basis would be fun.
Of course, it’ll never happen under Barker.
We would be no better than the Coots
I would venomously protest this move, and I think that a few years down the line everyone else here would too. We would be nothing more than what South Carolina is now in the SEC, a bench mark for the other programs to guarantee a win. We would be also rans, with no chance to compete in anything except for basketball. Our olympic programs would fail and, with our decline it would give the adminstration even more of a reason to cut programs. In my opinion, this is not a good idea.

The alternative, we don’t go and get further behnd in what will likely be an even weaker ACC. If Clemson wants to be serious it needs to sack up with both the expectations and the production.

Money Talks
What is the biggest ongoing problem with growing Clemson Football? I would venture to guess its money honey. How about an extra 5 million per year to juice things up? Besides the extra cheddar we get prime TV exposure, the right to say we are in the best football conference, more recruiting swagger and the ability to better compete in the coaching salary and facility wars.
Don’t you think Dabo and his staff will be up for the challenge? You bet they will. As we all should be.
So Mr. President strap it on and be bold; be a visionary; be fiscally responsible; be a leader; be a CLEMSON MAN; take Clemson to where we belong!
S-E-C! S-E-C! S-E-C!
The biggest thing holding us back is money though
as far as continuing to compete at a high level, you need the facilities and support staff to make it easier to win.
We have the money on the new TV deal to shore up some of the gaps, but its still not a level playing field.
So does this mean Clemson has said yes if Big Ten expands?
Can’t we deduce that “if Texas and Texas A&M cannot be lured” to jump ship, then we have been lured to do so.
