Marlin lane is opening his recruitment
According to the espn rumor section marlin lane is now looking at auburn after a recent visit, as well due to their lack of running back commits for the upcoming season. Surprised this news hasn't made it up here yet

We have been enjoying the holiday season a little too much, apparently, and really should have talked about this one.
You are absolutely correct on the Lane warming up to Auburn. Reports that I heard immediately following his visit to Auburn had him telling the Clemson folks that he was still a Clemson commitment and telling the non-CU followers that he is more open to Auburn after his visit. Lane, though, repeatedly confirmed to Clemson outlets and the CU staff after his visit that he was going to be at Clemson this fall. He went to the extent of telling one Clemson-based outlet that he was “100%” going to Clemson and that he had been committed to the Tigers for several years/was not going to change now.
I believe that both views are correct in that Clemson still has an advantage in his recruitment BUT the work is not close to being complete for CDS and crew in getting his signature.
Regarding his visit to AU: We heard he enjoyed his visit to the Plains earlier this month and would be considering Auburn moving forward. On his visit he was able to watch Auburn prepare for the bowl and see their up-tempo offense in person. Lane also was encouraged with Auburn’s relative lack of depth at RB and the idea that he may be able to come in and get some early playing time.
He still has a visit left in Clemson and is still listed as a Clemson commitment. His final decision will (obviously) either be Clem or AU. I am encouraged that (a) he did not switch his commit after the AU visit and (b) we get the last shot at him with a visit next month.

Hard to blame the kid really
Let’s see, go play for 6-6 Clemson, or undefeated Auburn, who may end up as national champs…
Obviously they have us beat in the success/prestige dept but maybe other things about Clemson will convince him to stay committed.
I honestly think auburn
Wnt be very good next year thou assuming newton declares forth draft. There losing many lineman and more importantly newton who single handedly won multiple games for them. Plus they have dyer and i don’t see them utilizing multiple backs like we do.
Who could blame him? Play for inept Dabo/Napier or play for Malzahn?? Its a no brainer really.
And before everybody says its not Malzahn its sCam Newton, look at the numbers the Auburn offense put up last year without sCam Newton. They had tons of yards last year too. Malzahn’s offense, while gimmicky, puts up gobs of yards and points.
I bleed clemson orange and right now if I was being asked to come play for them, I’d tell Dabo to go kiss my ass. He’s a joke as a coach and not even qualified to be coaching peewee football. Same with Napier.
yeah , I'd go to Auburn too.
Especially considering my potential future in the NFL , because players at Clemson aren’t being developed correctly . Strength and conditioning sucks compared to many other programs , and position coaching is abysmal . Yep , I bleed Clemson orange as well , but if it were me I would choose Auburn . I wouldn’t want to be associated with Dabo and company in any way shape or form .
