I'm gonna play Marc Summers here and ask what would you do with the football program coaching staff as the new Athletic Director of Clemson? For the sake of discussion, I'm going to assume TDP is out as Clemson AD. I'm not sure who we're going to bring in but I thought I would throw out the question of what the new AD should do regarding the football program. I have no intention of slamming Dabo. He took us to the conference championship game in his first full year as coach and he's been able to bring in some major recruiting talent (though I'm waiting until signing day to pop the Champagne cork on this year's recruiting class). I think it was his idea to bring in Kevin Steele as the D cooridnator too, which I think was an excellent hire. With that being said, there was a lot of terrible coaching that happened this year (and really the last several years too). I have not seen an offense that inept in a long time. While losing CJ and Jacoby obviously hurts, there was more than enough talent on this year's team to make it to the ACC title game. Dabo does not have a proven track record of winning yet because he is so young and inexperienced. I don't think anyone can honestly say that if the opportunity came up, they wouldn't take Rich Rod, Gary Patterson or Jim Harbaugh over Dabo. All those guys have proven they can win. Regardless of how you feel about Dabo, there is obviously doubt as to whether he can be a good coach. There isn't much doubt with the other guys. So if you were the next AD at Clemson, what would you do? Would you give Dabo another year to try and turn things around? Would you keep Dabo and make him clean house on offense? Or would you just clean house all together and go after a more established head coach?
Let's hear it Clemson fans! What say you?
