Oh and any of you who know that DF could've been hired in 1998 for free
should just hit up ole Bill Amick.
He’s the reason DF isnt here.
I just fired off this letter to Mr. Amick....
Bill,
It is with great interest that I learned or your involvement along with Max Lennon in the firing of Coach Ford. Those certainly were difficult times for Clemson. As a proud alumnus I was embarrassed by the NCAA’s sanctions on Clemson. No doubt your decision may have been guided by similar feelings.
My hope is that over time your actions can be weighed against the facts and considerations for the legacy Danny Ford left.
Coach Ford embodied the spirit of Clemson athletics. Coach Ford single-handedly put Clemson on the football map. Coach Ford did not break the rules. Coach Ford’s love and support for Clemson has remained constant.
As a proud Clemson Alumni I ask you to please consider creating a legacy for yourself by being the trustee who starts the healing that brings Coach Ford back into the Clemson family.
Regards,
Scott Disher
