Willy Korn To Transfer, Destination Unknown
"I have truly enjoyed my experience at Clemson University," said Korn. "I was very blessed and fortunate to have had the opportunity to play football and go to school here.
"The relationships I have built with my teammates will last the rest of my life. Things didn't work out for me on the football field the way I had hoped. However, with two years of eligibility remaining, I really want to go where I can contribute as a starter. So, I plan to transfer to another school in hopes of earning the starting quarterback position."

It's probably best for him.
I wish him the best wherever he goes. I have a friend who will be quite upset though.
Who needs affection when you can have blind hatred?
Went exactly as I expected
I said it in the preseason. If Parker solidified the job, no way would Korn stay. Look for him to try App State
Not sure about App
I think since he’s finishing his degree in May he can go D-1A if he wants without sitting out a year.

Ah
Seems like that wouldn’t be hard to find if he really wanted to play D1 ball.

I figured he would stay and try to win the job
So either he knows he will never be good enough, or he was told he would never get it.
Either way we are only losing a backup. Still, he had 3 years experience in the program.
Yep, but I assume that
Parker would go into spring ball as #1, Korn #2, Wade #3, Boyd #4. Boyd would certainly take the #3 spot from Wade after spring, but as many have said, Boyd is so good that he could take the #2 job from Korn.
Would anyone risk being dropped to #3? I dont see how a Rs Fr. takes the #2 spot from a RS Jr, no matter how good he is on the scout team, but given Korn’s arm strength its quite possible.
Now if Parker goes pro, and I do believe baseball is his future at 5’11", we could be in the same 8-4 boat again with another Rs Freshman. I just dont think he leaves this year, more likely next year, unless he just has a truly monster season. I don’t think he has the protection in the lineup to do that this year.
If I’m Will Korn I dont put myself at the mercy of Parkers baseball decision when Boyd is hot on my heels and could take the job from me halfway through the 2010 season or as a senior. I go somewhere where I can step in and play soon.
So, Korn is simply not good enough to win the job, and knows it?
If that is the case, it is not such a big loss. A highly touted recruit didn’t really pan out, and will only fill a mop-up role for us. If he transfers, it is not a big loss.
